So you can't knit....................

...........well, it seems you can still make and wear a scarf.  I bought a rather tizzy or perhaps more to the point, flamboyant scarf at our local Show on Tuesday.  I am sorry I do not know the name of the person who made it, but I could have purchased quite a few of them.  I am not sure I'll be wearing it, as I really purchased it to use the various fancy yarns that were in it.  This afternoon, I found a number of different yarns and made one for myself.  It's a simple matter of measuring the yarn, and when you are satisified with the amount, tie a knot in the centre, and you are good to go.  I won't show you the one the lady made, perhaps it's not quite fair to her, but this is the one I've made, using a much simpler colour scheme, and a lesser assortment of yarns.  It feels really soft and goes very well with several sweaters/pants/skirts I wear during the colder months of the year.

Thank you for all the concern over my mishap, both on here and privately.  I am walking quite well again, but my thumb is still hindering the stitching.  Obviously, I can still make a knot......LOL...

Great scarf idea. Mind you I think wearing it might just drive me nuts as I can imagine both the cat and doogie wanting to play with it lol.

Now has anyone else noticed that you only need to type one word to publish a comment. I posted the last one with the first word and will now try it with only the second word verification ....

I hope you are better. We need to be able to walk and to use that thumb. The scarf is wonderful.

How simple! And there is me, knitting a lace scarf which takes forever and it is not going to be as noticeable:))

Looks very interesting - How is it, when the wind starts to blow??? Will it get woven??

So sorry to hear a bit late about your mishap. Where have I been - at last warm sunny days have kept me out of doors and off the computer. I hope your recovery is fast. It is a nice idea for a quick scarf, good use if you have a collection of yarns that blend well together. It would have appealed to me too just to get the lengths of yarn (that's what embroiderers are like!!)

Linda, I love this scarf. Here in Melbourne scarves are very much needed - especially just now.

I will be scavenging through the stash tomorrow to see what I can find.

What a great, and simple, idea for a scarf. i think it would be warm too. And so easy to make different coloured ones for different outfits. I think with the wind we get here it may not be too practical though!!

Katherine; using one word didn't work for me, i had to use them both :-(

reading everyone`s comments Linda I am laughing to myself I can see you taking off in the wind and the scarf acting as wings, take care you never know where you might land.
Needless to say it is a wonderful scarf and love your choice of colours

Hello Linda, What a interesting design for a scarf. Love the colors you picked out. It looks like it would be very warm to wear. Good to hear your ankle is doing better. Hopefully that thumb will come around soon. You probably badly strain it. Hugs Judy
